When we think of the Victorian era, we often imagine large carriages, majestic palaces, fine manners and a very strict code of conduct. Indeed, the second half of the nineteenth century was the period of greatest height of the British Empire, where the wealth of the world flowed incessantly towards England. However, underneath this sumptuous postcard, there were millions of people suffering from extremely harsh living conditions. And a great writer who recounted many of these hardships and became an icon of the literature of that time. It is about Charles Dickens, and in this note we will tell you a little more about his history and his work that is still read around the world today.
