Ain’t no es más ni menos que una expresión coloquial del lunfardo inglés que se suele utilizar MUCHO. Al tratarse de una palabra del slang y no permitirse en contextos académicos, suele ser dejada de lado para que el alumno la aprenda por su cuenta.

¿Cómo se usa?

Ejemplos con el verbo to be

Reemplaza a «am not» – I ain’t cooking tonight = Esta noche no cocino.

Reemplaza a «is not» – Travelling ain’t cheap = Viajar no es barato.

Reemplaza a «are not» – These ain’t my trousers! = ¡Estos no son mis pantalones!

Reemplaza a «have not» – I ain’t stolen anything! = ¡No robé nada!

Ejemplos con la doble negación

Además, tengan en cuenta que hasta lo pueden escuchar con la doble negación. Sí, no es muy lindo que digamos pero se usa bastante, seguro escucharon la frase: I ain’t got no money en alguna canción o película. Por eso es importante que lo conozcan aunque no lo usen tan a menudo.

I ain’t got no money = No tengo dinero.

She ain’t done nothing = Ella no hizo nada.
