«They / them»: Inclusive language in English
The interest in inclusive language and the search for ways to name people in a non-binary way exceeds the Spanish language. While in the latter language different resources such as «e», «@», «x» and others have started to be used, in English the Pronoun «they» in the singular form is gaining force to refer to someone who does not identifies himself/herself within the male / female binary system.

According to the English Proficiency Index, Argentina ranks first in Latin America in terms of English proficiency, and 25th worldwide. The study is carried out annually in 100 countries and across the regions of the world, and tests approximately 2,200,000 people in order to determine what is the impact of the English language on the professional development as well as on the insertion of a person in the local economic system.

When we think of the Victorian era, we often imagine large carriages, majestic palaces, fine manners and a very strict code of conduct. Indeed, the second half of the nineteenth century was the period of greatest height of the British Empire, where the wealth of the world flowed incessantly towards England. However, underneath this sumptuous postcard, there were millions of people suffering from extremely harsh living conditions. And a great writer who recounted many of these hardships and became an icon of the literature of that time.
